I am a retired local educator who has lived in Ocala for over 40 years. I also previously worked six years at the local Sun Bank. After my retirement, I volunteered for three years daily at different venues to include Marion Cultural Alliance, and as a cashier at Hospice Retail. I fill my time since retirement by serving in several boards. As someone who has always taken wildlife photos, I decided to start a small business selling my wildlife pictures to also include my expansive native plant areas at my home.
Within a few months The Appleton Museum offered to sell my work in their store, which until recently they did for over year. I participated for over a year in the monthly First Friday Art Walk. The City of Ocala chose to display and sell my works of art in a one women show in two of their city buildings for several months. Currently I am the only nature photography for the Rainbow Springs State Park, as well as my works are for sale at local merchants such as Your Heart Desire, and the newly opened Juniper General Store.
StatementThe two pieces of original photography that I am entering were photos that I took overseas. The first one is of the shore line, from a boat, and the second was at a flower market in France. In the past, I have sold my art at several locations including: The Appleton Museum, Ocala First Friday Art Walk and a one woman show the City Of Ocala held for me in several city owned buildings.
