Little Red Riding Hood Meets the Big Bad Wolf
I created this as my second in my Fairy Tale series. The first was "...and so Alice's journey begins..." which I took such enjoyment in doing that I just had to plan to create some more along that line. Then much to my joy, the Brick City Center for the Arts put out a call to artists called From Books to Brushes, and I thought this one would be perfect to do (even though it is NOT primarily done with a brush!) I used stained glass, Van Gogh glass and created the two figures from a sculpting compound. The most difficult part was to get colors to work with the background on the figures. Now I am happy with that and love this piece and its layered dimensionality of implied texture.
